Draw Wire Measurement Principle
Draw wire displacement sensors measure linear movements using a highly flexible steel cable. The cable drum is attached to a sensor element which provides a proportional output signal.Measurements are performed with high accuracy and high dynamic response, and the measuring drum is axially coupled with a multi-turn potentiometer, an incremental encoder, or an absolute encoder, thus, a linear movement is transformed into a rotary movement and then converted into a resistance change or into countable increments. The use of high quality components guarantees a long life cycle and high operational reliability. GI-D20 Series encoder is a 0-1200mm measurement range high accuracy draw wire sensor. The aluminum housing provides a reliable sensor ideal for industrial environments. Being both economical and compact, these are appropriate for a wide variety of applications.D20 Series provide extremely precise measurements because of the inherent accuracy of the encoders(both absolute and incremental encoders) and the rugged construction ensures reliable performance even under extreme conditions. Measurements are highly accurate, reliable and the systems have very long lifetimes without losing its inherent characteristics. ▶Size:50x50x76mm; ▶Measurement Range: 0-1200mm; ▶Supply Voltage:5v,8-29v,24v; ▶Output Format: Analog-0-10v, 4-20mA; Incremental:NPN/PNP open collector, Push pull, Line Driver; Absolute:Biss, SSI, Modbus, CANopen, Profibus-DP, Profinet, EtherCAT, Parallel etc. ▶Widely used in various fields of automatic control and measurement system, such as machinery manufacturing, shipping, textile, printing, aviation, military industry Testing machine, elevator, etc. ▶Vibration-resistant, corros With a draw-wire sensor, a linear movement is transformed into a rotary movement. The free end of the wire is attached to the movable body. An optional eyelet at the free end of the wire can be screwed onto or attached to the measurement object. The rotary movement produced by drawing out the wire is converted into an electrical signal using a rotary encoder. A spring motor provides sufficient pre-tension of the wire. The spring motor is a coil spring with torque load, similar to those used in mechanical watch mechanisms. The further the wire is drawn out, the higher the tensioning force of the spring. In horizontal mountings, this has the benefit of minimising wire sag.Product characteristics | ||
